Arianny Aquino is a Dominican Christian merengue singer from San Antonio de Guerra. She began singing in church at five, and in 2023 a performance she gave there — filmed and posted by someone in the congregation — carried her out of the building and into a recording career.

Cuando Él Me Toca

The song was Cuando Él Me Toca, written by the Puerto Rican pastor Harry Maldonado with his son Harry Samuel Maldonado. Her reading of it spread on its own, and the studio version followed in 2023, released by Propósito with her as the featured voice. It is an unusual route into the record: the recording exists because the performance had already found an audience, rather than the other way round.

Recordings

Talita Cumi Merengue came in 2024, cut with Cales Louima and Esteban Matos, alongside Río de Vida Coro Pentecostal. A run of singles followed through 2025 — El Manto de Jesús, Piloné, Poder de Dios, Navidad con Cristo and Lugar Para Cristo, the last a reading of Himno 208. Mi Caballero, Sinaí, Vuelve, Jesús Me Libertó and Le Alabo En Todo Tiempo arrived in 2026. She is credited as the writer of Mi Caballero.

A striking share of the catalogue is marked en vivo. Much of it comes out of a live recording made on January 20, 2025 at the Iglesia de Dios Unida in Los Alcarrizos, alongside Esteban Matos, who has acted as her musical mentor.

Cuando Él Me Toca Tour

The tour named after the song opened on April 18, 2026 at the Auditorio Cielos Abiertos in Santo Domingo. The Maldonados travelled from Puerto Rico for it, so the men who wrote the song stood on stage with the singer who made it known.
