Biography

Audrey Campos is a Dominican singer, songwriter, and producer born in Santo Domingo, whose work spans pop-rock, ballads, and bachata. She developed part of her career alongside Frank Ceara in «Bachata Magic» and later as a solo performer. Her repertoire includes «Cuando tú no estás», «El amor que tuve», and «Pasión sin luz». She has remained active both in the Dominican Republic and in Serbia, where she has made a home with her family.

Early recordings and Bachata Magic

She began working in music at fourteen. In the early 1990s, she took part in «Bachata Magic», a project initiated by Manuel Tejada that brought together her voice and that of Frank Ceara to perform bachata versions of familiar ballads. The project led to recordings such as «Lluvia de besos» and a partnership revisited at different stages of their careers. She is also credited with backing vocals on Willy Chirino’s «Asere».

Viña del Mar and further collaborations

In 2003 she represented the Dominican Republic in the international competition at the Viña del Mar Festival with «Si te vas», written by Frank Ceara. The festival’s official historical archive preserves her performance. Their joint repertoire also includes «Lléname de ti», written for them by Juan Luis Guerra, who contributed backing vocals to the recording.

In September 2010 she resumed work with Frank Ceara under the name «Audrey y Frank». They introduced «Más allá de los años», a romantic bachata with Tex-Mex elements, and held a run of concerts at Casa de Teatro. In an online interview with Listín Diario, they discussed a new recording project and the continuity of their friendship and musical partnership.

Between Santo Domingo and Serbia

In a 2007 interview, she described living in Serbia after relocating for family reasons and performing Spanish-language repertoire there. That year she returned to Dominican stages, including Casa de Teatro, and was announced alongside the band Peaje at Taboo Bamboo as part of her pop-rock work. Her later public profile places her activity in Belgrade; this residence does not alter her Dominican birthplace.

In March 2023 she was announced for «Ellas 4, el concertazo», a reunion with Laura Rivera, Shara Viñas, and Ana Fe at Casa de Teatro, scheduled for April 1. In December that year, the single «Tekila», featuring Diómedes Jiménez, appeared on digital platforms. Her digital catalog also preserves «Pasión sin luz» and the album «Frank & Audrey», including «Cuando tú no estás», «Morir de amor», and «Porque te quiero, quiero».

Legacy

Campos’s career connects the Dominican pop-rock scene with romantic song and early bachata-pop projects of the 1990s. Her duo work, backing-vocal recordings, and appearances in different countries document a career moving between collaborative projects and her own work as a performer.
