Biography

Deborah García is a Dominican worship singer, born in Santo Domingo Norte to a family of pastors.

De Que Me Vale

Released in November 2024 as a live session, it is by a wide margin the most heard thing she has recorded — far beyond anything else in her catalogue and beyond most Dominican worship records of any year.

The line it turns on is de qué me vale aparentar lo que no vivo: what good does it do me to keep up an appearance I am not living. That is an unusually pointed subject for a worship song. The genre generally addresses God; this one addresses the person singing it, and its reach suggests the question landed.

The rest

The catalogue is small and deliberate. Mi Generación, sung with Profeta Hency Marte, also gave its name to an EP. Algo Sucede and Las Naciones Verán complete what she has released. Fourteen videos in total stand behind an audience most artists would need a hundred to reach.

She has been presented as one of the worship leaders of United Music, and other Dominican worship groups have covered her — Emunah Worship among them, which is its own measure: she is now source material for other people’s services.
