Biography

Karol Michelle is a Dominican singer working in contemporary gospel. She went solo in 2023 and had sung in groups before that.

Before her own name

She came up inside two Dominican Christian ensembles, WorldWorship and Grupo Hope. That order matters and is easy to lose: a good many Dominican worship soloists are formed in a group first, and the group is what teaches them to sing with other people rather than over them.

The singles

Escojo a Dios (La Fama Pasa) opened the solo catalogue in 2023, and its parenthesis states the argument the title only implies. No Acabó (Existe Vida Ahí) followed as the second. Yo Vivo Para Ti came in 2026 and reached furthest of the three; a live version was released that August.

Párate

In October 2024 she sang on Párate with the duo Propiedad de Dios, and the record is worth describing in full. It is a Christian merengue — not a worship ballad, a merengue — built on Mark 2:1-12, the paralytic whose four friends open a roof to lower him to Jesus.

Neftalí Céspedes wrote it with Propiedad de Dios. Moisés Sánchez produced. It was mixed and mastered at Súbelo Ram under Ramsés Alegría, and the band is named: Chira Percusión on percussion, José Frank on trumpets, Enrique Alcántara on saxophone, Juan Daniel on bass. Jordan Films shot the video in Santo Domingo. She had already appeared on the same duo’s Candela Chispa y Fuego.

On stage

She has sung at the Vigilia Ruge at the Multiuso Raúl Castro and at RD es de Dios, the mass gathering held in the Estadio Quisqueya parking lot.
