Mark B — Mark Burdier — is a Dominican urban artist. He was born in New York on 18 November 1987 to Dominican parents and moved to the Dominican Republic in 2010, and the career is entirely a Dominican one.

Arriving

He has told the story of the arrival himself: he came to the country in 2010 chasing the music, and the work he found was as a lighting assistant for a photographer. He was twenty-two and starting from nothing in a place he had not grown up in.

Wila Wila

Wila Wila, cut with Químico Ultra Mega, is the record that put him on national radio. It is a party record and it worked like one — it went out in 2018 and stayed.

Ponernos Loco followed as a mambo. Between the dembow end and the mambo end he has stayed inside the Dominican urban field rather than crossing to the diaspora market his birth certificate would have made easy.
