Biography

Nathalie Adjeir Hazim Guzmán, professionally known as Nathalie Hazim, is a Dominican singer-songwriter and music producer born on 5 November in Santo Domingo. Her repertoire is rooted in ballads and pop, with ventures into bolero and merengue. Since her 2012 debut, she has released four albums and developed projects in music production and communications.

Training and first releases

She studied advertising communications and took film courses at the New York Film Academy. As a child she practiced ballet for fourteen years, and she sang with friends before performing publicly. In 2012 she released her debut single, «El espejo de tus ojos»; the album of the same name followed in 2013. Produced by Jim Papoulis, it featured many of her own songs. In 2013 she took part in a «Premios Soberano» tribute to Luchy Vicioso.

Her second release, «Te Cuento» (2017), was produced by Kiko Cibrián and brought together six songs about identity, self-acceptance and relationships. It brought her a 2018 «Premios Soberano» nomination for Soloist of the Year and won World EP at that year's «Independent Music Awards». She also runs her work through her label, «Malagana Records».

Songwriting, production and bolero

In 2020 she released «Más de lo que soñé», co-producing it with Alexandro Seguí and Hafid Salazar. The song won an «Independent Music Award» for Best Pop Music Production. That year she linked her single «Puertas adentro» to a food-aid initiative for Dominican families. In 2021 she released «Amorosa», an album of thirteen boleros revisiting songs from the Dominican repertoire.

Her fourth album, «Desde Cero» (2022), gathered eleven original songs in a pop setting; painter Ada Balcácer created artwork for its cover. She shared the stage with Vickiana during the album's concert presentations. In January 2025 Hazim released «Amor bonito», her first recorded venture into merengue, followed in November by the ballad «Y esto, ¿a quién se lo digo?».

Other projects

Outside music, Hazim directs the communications agency «Room Grupo Creativo». She launched «Cinco Palabras», a podcast of personal conversations, in 2025. Its second season began in 2026 on her YouTube channel and other platforms.

Legacy

Her work combines original songs with fresh interpretations of Dominican bolero. Producing her own music and pursuing communications and community projects have accompanied a career centred on romantic song.
