Nikóla is a Dominican singer, songwriter and DJ from Santo Domingo, part of the city's alternative scene. She describes her sound as «sensual melancolía tropical».

Background

She grew up near the Malecón in Gazcue. She trained in classical singing at a conservatory, but found her voice in the alternative scene of Santo Domingo, where she works with Latin rhythms and the sounds and colors of the Caribbean. Singing and photography were her first artistic interests, and she builds each project as an imaginary world, choosing colors and images to go with the music.

Recordings

Her first EP was «Kulebra», which she presented in Puebla, Mexico, and on a tour of New York. In 2021 she released the single «Embeleso» with an official video made with friends from the Santo Domingo scene, and the EP of the same name, a love story in four songs and an intro.

Her debut album, «Bengála», came out on April 11, 2025, with eleven songs that include «Le Le Lé», «Ae Ae, Ete Ritmo E» and «Empapá». She presented it in a live concert of the same name on June 13, 2026.
