Propósito Music is a Dominican Christian music collective that performs Pentecostal choruses and hymns in merengue and other tropical arrangements. Guitarist and producer Samuel Ernesto “Sami” Castillo leads the project. Its recordings bring together different singers and instrumentalists, including credited performers Abigail Mateo, Ónice Mateo, Bryan Matos, April Grace Jaspe and Yvelisse Lara.

Beginnings

The project's first single, «Eres Fiel», appeared on digital platforms on March 25, 2020. An article published two months later identified Castillo as the musician behind the project. Propósito has since combined studio recordings and live performances centered on congregational worship repertoire.

Recordings

In December 2021 it released «Pa' que Te Goce, Vol. 1», featuring performances by Sami Castillo, Yvelisse Lara and April Grace. «Pa' que Te Goce', Vol. 2 (En Vivo)» followed on August 19, 2022, with Abigail Mateo and Ónice Mateo among its featured voices. Both albums arrange traditional choruses as medleys for a tropical ensemble.

Later recordings include «Cuando Él Me Toca» (2023), featuring Arianny Aquino; the medley «Hubo Quien Por Mis Culpas / En La Cruz» (2024); and a separate recording of «En La Cruz» with Abigail Mateo (2025). On «Cuando Allá Se Pase Lista» (2026), Castillo is credited on guitar and as producer, with Bryan Matos and Ónice Mateo on background vocals. The collective's catalog continues to reinterpret Pentecostal songs through tropical arrangements.
