Ray Bop — Raimer, born on 17 May 1990 — is a Dominican rapper and producer. He was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the Bronx, and he raps in English.
A Bronx rapper from the island
That combination puts him in a group Dominican music rarely counts as its own. He is not making Spanish-language urban music for a Dominican audience; he is making New York hip hop, and the island is where he started rather than where he works.
The Bronx has been receiving Dominicans for sixty years, and the second generation there has produced rappers, producers and engineers who are Dominican by birth or descent and American by training. Their records rarely come home.
The catalogue
Cheeseburger Wallets came in 2012, Life’s a Hoe in 2014, and RayBop and Gorgeous Hustle 2: Ambitious Living both in 2016. Star Spangled and a reissued Gorgeous Hustle followed in 2025.
The songs run to God of Flows II, Flight Ticket, Fool, Visionary, In Gold We Trust, Kloud$ and Who’s World Is This, cut with Abdel Russell. He produces as well as writes, and he came up through an artist development programme rather than a label deal.
