Smerli Chal is a Dominican Christian singer based in Santo Domingo. Her catalogue is two songs, and she has released each of them twice.

Every song in two languages

Nuevo Corazón came out in December 2025 and No Me Sueltes followed. Each then appeared again in English, as New Heart and Don’t Let Me Go — not subtitled, not a lyric video with a translation underneath, but recorded again. A live version of No Me Sueltes was issued in July 2026.

Doing this at her scale is a deliberate choice rather than a label’s. An artist with two songs to her name has no commercial reason to double the work, and the decision says something about who she thinks is listening.

Credits

She does not write alone or produce herself, and the records say so plainly: the lyrics are hers with Enmanuel Moreta, the musical production is by Carlos David de Jesús Abad, and José Alberto Báez Mejía shot the videos. Naming a four-person team on a two-song catalogue is more than most artists at this stage bother to do.

Where the audience is

Her following on TikTok is far larger than on any other platform, and the channel she keeps there is not only music: short reflections, verses, prayer. Her YouTube channel describes itself the same way, as a space for genuine worship made of music, reflection and prayer together rather than songs alone. She sings in Dominican congregations, among them the Iglesia El Yo Soy Te Ha Enviado.
