Ale Puji, the professional name of Alejandro Grullón Rivera, is a Dominican music producer, beatmaker and drummer based in Barcelona. He releases his own music as ALEPUJI, drawing on R&B, electronica, Dominican folklore and contemporary jazz. His work spans solo recordings, collaborations and the technical preparation of live performances.

Musical education and research

He trained in Music at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña. Its repository preserves his 2021 degree project, «Equipos, técnicas y procesos de producción del merengue de los 90’s». The study examines merengue mixing in the 1990s, the digital emulation of those techniques and their potential application to contemporary genres such as lo-fi.

Recordings and collaborations

His catalog includes «Wonders», with Hansel Moya, and «Ryu's Moves», both released in 2020, followed by «Warmth», with Gaby de los Santos, in 2021. He also made «Multicolor II - Alepuji Remix», included on Solo Fernández's «Multicolor (Remix EP)». In 2023 he co-produced «Alaluz» with Pororó, the project led by Arnold Martínez. The original recording credits identify ALEPUJI on synthesizers, vocals and percussion, while Martínez wrote the words and music.

From the studio to the stage

Through «Marfile Estudios», he combines production, arrangement and mixing with drum programming and instrumental performance. His playback work includes preparing sequences, reference tracks and automation for live shows. In September 2025 he joined «Musiversal»'s roster of beatmakers. His approach grows out of his practice as a drummer, with rhythm central to his production work.

Recent work

He released «Too Late» and «Lo Tienes To'» in 2024, followed by «Contour» in 2025 and «No Rules» in 2026. He is also listed among the musicians involved in «DOMINISMO», Diego Jaar's second studio album, presented in 2026. This participation is distinct from the album's overall production, credited to Jaar and Joel Berrido.

Legacy

His career connects research into merengue production techniques with electronic music and live performance. His recordings and collaborations document a practice that brings drumming, sound design and concert preparation into the same musical process.
