Freisis Frías, the stage name of Freisy Efraín Frías Reyes (born in Santo Domingo on 15 February 1990), is a Dominican Christian singer and songwriter. He was the lead vocalist of «ContraCultura» and has since developed his own worship repertoire through live recordings and collaborations in the Christian music scene.

Early years and formation

He grew up connected to the Nueva Jerusalén church, where he served as a musician and took part in youth and evangelism work. His early recordings include «El Huerto» and «Ángeles». His congregational experience preceded his recorded work and the pastoral ministry he began in 2021.

ContraCultura

Frías was a songwriter and lead singer with «ContraCultura». In 2019 the group released «No hay temor», a song offering encouragement amid depression and loneliness; Dayner Civil co-wrote its lyrics and arranged the recording. The group had also promoted «El Sacrificio Soy Yo» and «Fuego», the latter featuring Chanel Novas, and received an «El Galardón» award as a breakthrough group. Emerging from the «Somos Adoradores» ministry, it accompanied Aline Barros, Danny Berrios and Rocío Crooke in live performances during 2019.

Solo recordings and collaborations

His official YouTube channel preserves a video for «Alabadle» that predates the more recent releases in his digital catalogue. In 2023 he appeared on «No Me Postraré» with Chanel Novas and on «Talita Cumi» with Dianette; he also began working with «Frilop Music» that year. He released «Viene Algo Nuevo (Live)» in 2024, followed by «Espíritu Santo» and «Ruaj Hakodesh», recorded with Maiker Carpiadosa, in 2025. He is also featured on «Se Moverá La Piedra (Llegaron Ellos)» by «Unánimes en Adoración».

Legacy

Freisis Frías’s career connects songwriting for a Christian group with worship performances under his own name. Congregational participation remains central to his recordings and collaborations.
