La Fiera Típica — Cristhofher Reyes Rodríguez, born in Mao, Valverde, in 2004 — is a Dominican merengue típico accordionist and singer. He started in August 2023 and had a national audience inside two years.

Early years and formation

He comes from a poor family in Mao that put a value on schooling. He plays the accordion, which in típico means he leads rather than fronts, and the command of the instrument is what the coverage keeps returning to.

Si Se Enteran

Si Se Enteran is the record that carried furthest. It was written by Laury Mesa and produced by El Chef Produciendo, and the video was shot as a short piece with actors rather than as a performance clip — Franklin Romero Jr. and Priscila Concha play it out, directed by Almont.

Tu Mejor Amante followed it and went further still. By January 2026 the two of them were sitting together at the top of the Dominican típico charts.

The collaborations

Mamá Mela and Chupa Pa were made with Bulin 47. Putting a dembow artist over an accordion is the move that defines his generation of típico, and he has done it without giving up the instrument.

He has shared a stage with Fefita la Grande, which for an accordionist under twenty-five is the closest thing the genre has to an endorsement. He also plays Laurita Garza, a Mexican norteño standard, on a Dominican accordion — the same borrowing típico has always done, aimed at a repertoire nobody else here touches.

Viento, Licor y Sal

His first album of original material arrived in Santiago de los Caballeros at the end of July 2026: twelve songs, none of them covers. The single, Viento, Limón y Sal, was filmed in Montecristi and folds urban rhythms into the traditional form.

Before it he had already toured the United States and come home to a newsroom interview — a fast two years for a musician who was nineteen when he started.
