Matty Martínez, born in 1990 in San Cristóbal, is a Dominican worship singer and songwriter. She has been in her church’s worship ministry since she was a girl and recording since 2016, and she is known first for what her voice can do.

From eleven

She became an evangelical Christian at ten and found she could sing at eleven, joining the worship ministry of her congregation from that point. She turned to music as her work in 2016, and her first production, Dios Me Encontró, carried fifteen songs, all of them her own. More than eight award nominations have followed.

A voice mistaken for a machine

In January 2026 a live performance of A Sus Pies, the Jesús Adrián Romero song, went round the Dominican internet because listeners could not work out how a human being had sung it — the intonation and control were being compared to an AI-generated voice. Vocal coaches and musicians took the recording apart in public.

What the discussion settled on was technique rather than trickery: breath control, clean placement, and a delivery that the synthetic versions could not reproduce. It is an unusual thing for a Dominican worship singer to be documented for, and it belongs in the record — the argument was about her craft, and it happened at the moment the industry started asking what a real voice is worth.

The recordings

Te Damos Gloria, Háblame and Al Que Reina were cut live, the first with Cales Louima, who also appears on Amarte Igual / La Bondad de Dios. El Llamado came in 2024 and Tu Fidelidad among the more recent singles. She sang Mi Corazón Te Exalta with Edanne.

She recorded Dominicana with Chanel Novas, Marcos Yaroide, Rosa Karina and Johan Paulino, and Muévete with Rosa Karina — the video that took Video of the Year at Premios El Galardón in 2025. She has also stood out on La Batalla de la Fe.
