Rafely Rosario is a Dominican merengue singer. He is the son of Rafa Rosario and sings with Los Hermanos Rosario, which makes him the second generation of one of the most durable institutions in the music.

The family

His father was the lead voice of the group. Being the child of that is a particular kind of career: the door opens, and then everything you do is measured against the person who opened it. He has spoken about it directly in interviews rather than avoiding the question.

The group brought him in during a recent phase, and the Dominican press credits him with giving it freshness — which is the polite way of saying an orchestra founded in the seventies needed a voice that was not.

Mujer Bonita

His own record is Mujer Bonita, written by Cinthya Montero. He began pushing it at the start of 2023 and it went past a million views, which for a singer working inside a family orchestra is the proof that the solo name carries on its own.

The next generation

He is not the only one. Toño Rosario’s son Checho Rosario is doing the same thing from the other branch of the family, and the two of them get compared constantly — two grandsons of the same dynasty, two styles, the same job of keeping it going.
