Sarah Patricia Luciano Alburquerque (known artistically as Sarah La Profeta) is a pioneer of Dominican female Christian hip hop, recognized for breaking gender barriers in Caribbean urban music beginning in the mid-2000s.

Pioneering female Christian rap

At a time when Caribbean Christian rap was heavily male-dominated, Sarah La Profeta emerged with an authoritative lyrical style, rapid delivery, and uncompromising evangelistic message. Her 2011 album «Vanidad» gained widespread acclaim across Latin America through powerful singles such as «La Risa», «Vanidad», and «Dime Qué Vas Hacer».

Evolution and collaborations

In 2014, she released the landmark production «Siempre En Ti», featuring the international hit «Yugo Desigual» alongside Puerto Rican urban leader Alex Zurdo. She has also collaborated with fellow Dominican standout Lizzy Parra on impactful anthems including «El Fuego» (2022).
