Tito Swing, born Miguel Antonio Lozada Rosa in Santo Domingo on 23 September 1982, is a Dominican merengue de calle singer and songwriter. He bills himself as El Más Loco de Tó, and he has been releasing records for close to twenty years without ever quite leaving the street form he started in.

Early years and formation

He belongs to the first wave of merengue de calle, and to the part of it that learned by doing. A producer who worked with the generation put it plainly: Omega, Sujeto Oro 24 and Tito Swing all came up empirically, without conservatories and without arrangers to hand them their parts.

He writes what he sings. The publishing credits on his catalogue carry his own legal name as songwriter, which in a genre built on borrowed hooks is not the default.

El Bolón and A Otro Nivel

El Bolón was circulating on video by 2008 and it is still the record people name first. A Otro Nivel followed in 2010 and gathered the run he was on — Hablan de Todo, Punto 40, Blin Blin, El Bolón itself. Loco de Amor, El Plátano, El Keso and Pa’ Ke Lo Baile Con Tito belong to the same stretch.

La Faldita

In 2013 Pochy y su Cocoband put him on La Faldita, from the album Coco de Calle. That record is the crossing point of two eras: a nineties merengue orchestra opening its own album to the street singers who had taken its audience, with Tulile brought in on another track for the same reason.

He is often spoken of as though he had been in Cocoband. He was not. He was the guest, which is a different and in some ways better distinction — the orchestra came looking for him.

El Café and after

El Café gave him a second title people recognise, and El Guerrero followed on Sueños Records. Coronao, Estilo Miami, La Contra, Callando Boca, Ute Ta Loco, Fábrica de Tela and Brindemos have come out across the same recent years, many of them cut live.

Fui Fua, an adaptation, put him back near the top of Dominican radio, and Mi Cuarto No Son Pa’ Ti arrived in 2026. In 2016 he was nominated as urban artist of the year, and awards bodies have since begun recognising him for the length of the run rather than for any single record.
