Biography

Jairo Puello is a Dominican worship singer and songwriter from Baní, in Peravia. He describes his work as a ministry of song and word rather than a career, and he comes from a family that made the same choice: his parents are pastors, his brother Joel is a pastor, and his sister is the singer Any Puello.

The duo record

His earliest recorded work was a duo album with Any Puello, which was also her first. She has since spent more than twenty years based in the United States, and their paths separated, but the family record begins with the two of them on the same release.

Melodías Records

He emerged as a solo artist at the start of the 2000s. Listín Diario reported that he signed with the Christian label Melodías Records in 2000 and released his first solo recording, Me Quedo Contigo.

Atado a Ti

By 2007 he was presenting the concert Atado a Ti at the Aula Magna of the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo — a hall that carries some weight for a Christian artist, being the main auditorium of the country’s oldest university rather than a church. The programme included Me Diste Un Corazón, Vía Contraria, Todo Lo Puedo, Más Que Vencedor, Ven A Mí, Atado A Ti and Sigo Tus Huellas.

The catalogue that reached streaming carries Me Quedo Contigo, Sobre La Roca and Atado A Ti.
