Yosailyn Diloné, known professionally as La Inquieta Típica, is a Dominican accordionist and singer of merengue típico, the accordion-led style also called perico ripiao. She was born in Esperanza, in Valverde province, in the Cibao northwest, and is based largely in New York while performing across the Dominican Republic and the diaspora. She plays the accordion and dances at the same time, a signature of her live shows.

Origins and training

La Inquieta Típica grew up in a family of típico musicians; her father, Alexis Núñez, is an accordionist, and her mother was her first manager, organizing rehearsals, repertoire, and bookings. She began as a dancer with her father's group, «La Sorpresa Típica», and he later agreed to teach her the accordion. She also took a few lessons from Rafaelito Román and says she has learned from other exponents of the genre and from audiences, whose requests she notes down and learns afterwards. Her first appearance on stage as an accordionist was with her father's group at a venue in Bonao, where she opened «El Diente de Oro» and the band followed. She formed her own group in the early 2010s.

She studied psychology at a university campus in Mao for four terms, but says the workload and the late nights of típico dances made it impossible to continue, and she chose music.

Career

Her early work was on the northwest típico circuit, playing dances and gamecock clubs, or galleras, which she credits as a key source of support for the genre. Her first recognition, she recalls, was presented at the Club Gallístico El Palo de Damajua in Esperanza. In 2019 Dominican press reported on her new song and video and described her as one of the more complete artists of the new generation of típico. She later moved her base to New York and toured in the United States, including Chicago, Miami, Orlando, and Texas, adding elements such as cumbia to her arrangements for audiences of other Latin American origins.

In November 2023 she released «Mama Cela», a double-entendre merengue típico issued through the company «Palotipicodigital LLC», which became widely popular within days and remains the song she is asked for most, often several times in a night. Other songs include «Pica la Cebolla» and «Enamorada», both her own, «El Emigrante», «Merengue Dominicano», and, in 2025, «Ando Buscándome un Novio», written by the Venezuelan songwriter Douglani Sosa. In 2026 she released «La Calentura», a merengue with more modern touches.

Recognition

In October 2025 Acroarte's New York chapter presented her with the «Revelación New York Awards de la Diáspora» award in New York.

Legacy

La Inquieta Típica is one of the few women leading her own accordion group in merengue típico, a genre where the lineage of women runs through figures such as Fefita la Grande. She has said she hopes to be remembered for the joy she brings to the stage.
