Misael J — Misael Josué Rosario Mena, born November 5, 1999 in Santo Domingo — is a Dominican worship singer and multi-instrumentalist. He played before he sang, and the instruments have stayed in the work in a way that is unusual for a singer in this genre.

Instruments first

He started young on piano, drums, bass, guitar and percussion. The voice came later: he was sixteen when school competitions showed him he could sing, and nineteen when he recorded his first song, Mi Alabanza, which appeared in 2020. He began putting music on Instagram and TikTok in 2021 and moved to full-length video on YouTube in 2022.

He is asked onto other people’s records constantly. He sings on Espíritu Santo Fluye with Grupo Grace, on Que No Se Apague with Dahaira, on Rodeado with Carolina Ponciano and on Corro A Ti with Richard Acosta and Chris Armand, both for Hope W Music and Tba Worship, and on an EP with the Brazilians Arthur Callazans and Midian Lima.

Gangster de Dios 4

In 2024 he appeared on Gangster de Dios 4, the posse cut assembled by Propiedad de Dios with Natan El Profeta and El Philippe, alongside Lizzy Parra, Ander Bock, Brayan Booz, Ricky Webber and Mayo Music. Like Mayo Music, he is a worship singer standing on a rap record — the two halves of Dominican Christian music meeting on a track that belongs to the urban side.
