Ander Bock — Ander Antonio Bock Sánchez, born February 27, 1990 in Santo Domingo and raised in San Pedro de Macorís — is a Dominican Christian rapper. He is regarded within the scene as one of the strongest lyricists in Latin Christian rap, and has taken Premios El Galardón twice.

Words before music

He came to writing before he came to recording: painting and literature as a child, and poetry from the age of nine. His first recording, in 2005, was secular. He turned to Christian music at the end of that decade, and the writing has stayed the point — the range of styles underneath it has changed constantly.

El Consejo de Estado took urban album of the year at Premios El Galardón in 2018, and he was named urban artist of the year there in 2020, from three nominations in all. In December 2018 he signed with Funkytown Music, the label built around the Puerto Rican rapper Funky, where MR. Yeison works as A&R; No Fallará, cut with Funky, came out of that.

El Primogénito

Released on November 8, 2023 through UNO Records, this is the record he treats as his first proper solo album — fourteen songs, with Musiko, Alex Zurdo, Marcos Yaroide, Natan El Profeta and Onell Díaz appearing on it, and Viaje Perfecto as the lead single, produced by Beats By Nath and Defra. The title points to Christ as the firstborn of creation.

The album is where the stylistic spread is clearest: meren-house, EDM and guaracha sit next to the rap, which is unusual even in a genre built on borrowing. He has said he wants it to reach Latin listeners of every age.

He turns up throughout Dominican Christian urban music: on WOW Wouu Dembow with MR. Yeison and Natan El Profeta; on the Sobreviviente remix alongside El Philippe; and on ANDERRATED 2, where Derick Daniel Pérez Cordero guests. Lo Que Viene, from 2026, was cut with the duo Mariannah y Diego and the singer Odanis BSK.
