Biography

MR. Yeison is a Dominican Christian urban artist and songwriter working in dembow and Latin urban styles. He describes his own working life as songwriter by day and artist by night, and serves as an A&R for Funkytown, the label built around the Puerto Rican rapper Funky.

Writer and A&R

The double role is the most distinctive thing about him. Most artists in the Dominican Christian urban scene are performers first; Yeison works on the other side of the desk as well, scouting and developing material for a label whose reach extends across the Spanish-language Christian market. He has contributed to Funky's album Paréntesis and appears on the Tiembla remix alongside Funky and the wider Funkytown roster.

Recordings

His most-heard release remains Sin Frenos with Boue. WOW Wouu Dembow, cut with Ander Bock, Natan El Profeta and Dr. Roca, follows it, along with YahweH, recorded with Luis Antonio.W and Eliezer Daniels, and Gracia.

The recent catalogue runs at a steady pace — Todos Los Días (a veces), Desde Peque with Chesary, Detallitos with Dr. Roca, De Lo Mejor, Mas Glow, Modelo and La Misión. His channel holds 144 videos.

Gangster de Dios

Yeison appears on Gangster de Dios 4, the posse-cut EP assembled by Propiedad de Dios with Natan El Profeta and El Philippe, alongside Lizzy Parra, Ander Bock, Misael J, Brayan Booz, Peter Metivier, R.E.A.L, Ricky Webber, Mayo Music and RL & Vanessa. That series is the clearest surviving map of the Dominican Christian urban scene, and his presence on it places him inside the same recurring cast.
