Biography
Vizkel — Omar Sánchez — is a Dominican rapper, and one of the six founding members of Aposento Alto, the group that defined Dominican Christian rap.
The founding line-up
He was there in 2007 when the group formed in San Luis, alongside Sr. Pérez, the Philippe brothers, Noemí Martínez and Lors El Prieto. He appears on A Precio de Sangre, the 2007 debut, and on El Último Testamento in 2010.
In 2011 he and Rincón both left. The four who remained carried on, and Tratado en Audio, released the following year, was the first record the group made without them.
After the group
An artist recording as Vizkel works today in Dominican urban music, in a secular register — the catalogue on that channel runs to titles like Cartier, Sin Panty and Bipolar, with no religious content. If that is the same man, his is the only trajectory in this part of the catalogue that runs in that direction: almost every other artist here arrived at Christian music from somewhere else, and he would be the one who left it.
The identification has not been established by any published source. No Dominican outlet has covered the current artist, and the social account linked from the channel no longer exists. It is an attribution with no citation behind it, and should be treated as open until something confirms it.
