Amaury Hernández Gil (1983–2024) was a Dominican Christian singer and songwriter, an original vocalist of Kabed and the husband of singer Karen Ponciano. He contributed to the group's early performances and recordings alongside its leader Ezequiel Ponciano.

Kabed and songwriting

Hernández was part of Kabed's founding lineup at the Tabernáculo de Adoración church in Santo Domingo Este in 2015. The ensemble made its official debut at the Somos 1 youth convention in January 2016 and released «Inúndanos» that May. He later shared lead vocal duties with Yuleisy Canela and Karen Ponciano. Hernández and Ezequiel Ponciano co-wrote the group's 2020 song «Cantaremos Victoria», recorded at EP Music Studio.

Final years

Hernández remained associated with Kabed and also performed with the Christian group EmanuelDCN. He died in July 2024, shortly after the birth of his third child with Karen Ponciano. Kabed publicly commemorated their years of work together and continued recording.

Legacy

His documented place in Kabed is that of an original vocalist and a co-writer of «Cantaremos Victoria». His voice and shared work belong to the group's formative years, while its later recordings continued under Ponciano's leadership.
