Grupo Hope, known in its early years as Hope Worship and credited on music platforms as Hope W Music, is a Dominican Christian worship music project led by Junior Ponciano. It made its stage debut as a band in 2018, developed a repertoire with musicians and changing vocalists, and announced in 2026 that it was consolidating its work as a worship platform.
Early years
Hope Worship made its stage debut at the «Aviva Joven» youth gathering in Santo Domingo Este in August 2018. By December its official Facebook page was promoting «Espíritu Santo» and directing listeners to the song's YouTube video. In February 2019 the same channel released a video about the song's origins, presenting Hope Worship and Ponciano as its performers. «Dios de Gloria» expanded the recorded repertoire in 2020.
The music grew from songs Ponciano wrote during his pastoral and worship work. Through its association with «Somos Uno», the project performed at youth gatherings and at «Tabernáculo de Adoración». The name Hope Worship continued to appear on Christian event bills while Grupo Hope and Hope W Music identified its videos and digital releases.
«Rodeado» and a wider audience
In June 2022, Grupo Hope and «Tba Worship» presented «Rodeado», with Misael J and Carolina Ponciano as guest lead vocalists. Ponciano wrote it after a worship experience; the recording credits musical production to David Rosario, Dereck Cruz and Ponciano, while Joseph Tavárez made the video. The song carried the project's congregational music to a wider online audience. That year Hope W Music was nominated at the Christian «Premios AMCL» for breakthrough artist and for «Espíritu Santo».
The band years
When Grupo Hope introduced «Monte Sinaí» in May 2023, Esteban Ponciano played bass and Carolina Ponciano, Karol Michelle and Rut Senil were identified as the group's vocalists. Ronny Ramírez wrote the song, David Rosario arranged it and Agner Marte produced its video. The musicians filmed it in a setting resembling a church service so congregations could adopt the song. Karol Michelle subsequently pursued a solo career; the press noted her earlier membership in 2024.
Collaborations and new songs
In August 2023, «Kadosh» paired Grupo Hope with Averly Morillo; the video's credits name Junior Ponciano, Janiel Ponciano, Morillo and David Rosario as writers. «Yeshua» and «Alfa & Omega» followed in 2024, the latter featuring Jordan Mateo and Ponciano. In 2025 the project joined Alison on the live recording «Lo llenas todo», also credited to Ponciano. The succession of singers is part of the development of one musical identity rather than a series of unrelated acts.
A worship platform
On February 3, 2026, Grupo Hope announced a new phase on its official Facebook page as a worship platform. Alongside creating and distributing congregational music, it set out to mentor, train and give visibility to new worship leaders. Recording continued under the Hope W Music identity: «Derrama Tu Aceite» appeared in March with Misael J and Carolina Ponciano, followed in August by the video for «Te Mostraré Mi Gloria» with Carolina and Karen Ponciano. The statement broadened the project's mission without retiring its name or recordings.
Legacy
Grupo Hope's history runs from its first appearances as Hope Worship to its platform phase. Its songs, performances and recordings connect Junior Ponciano's pastoral songwriting with instrumentalists, group vocalists and guests from different periods. The continuing catalogue under Grupo Hope and Hope W Music makes that development visible as one musical project.
