Biography
La Noe — Noemí Martínez — is a Dominican Christian rapper and songwriter, and was the only woman in Aposento Alto, the group that defined Dominican Christian hip hop. She was there from its founding in 2007 and stayed the full run, then built a solo catalogue that is now larger than the group’s.
Cuerda & Caja
Her solo debut proper came in 2019 with Cuerda & Caja, after more than a decade inside the group. It was cut live and acoustic — urban music played on strings and a cajón rather than programmed — which for a rapper out of that scene was a deliberate stripping away. She presented it in concert on May 17, 2019 at the Iglesia Aguas de Vida in Santo Domingo Este, with Johan Paulino, Cales Louima, Rubinsky RBK, Lizzy Parra and Radical People as guests.
A Quien Pueda Interesar had preceded it in 2018.
2020 onward
2020 was her most productive year by some distance: Una Parte De Mi, Esto Es Hip Hop, Mi Nombre Es Negro, Déjalo Que Hable, Vintage, Barras, and Estoy de Pie with Reyes Urbanos. Ida y Vuelta followed in 2021. After a quiet stretch she returned in 2024 with Mi Día, Como Es Él, Session Gold, Big Mama and De Que Te Vale, and Imigrante came in 2025.
