Biography
Rubinsky RBK — Manuel Enrique Núñez Espinoza, born May 9, 1990 in Santo Domingo — is a Dominican Christian rapper and songwriter. He came up through the group circuit of the late 2000s and became one of the artists who carried Dominican Christian rap into trap.
Beginnings
He started in 2009 with a song called Feliz, working at first inside a group, Eternal Promise. Un-Sin Records supported the early work. His debut album, Desde El Inicio, arrived in 2012 with fourteen tracks; the EP El Demo followed in 2013 with six, and he joined the group Real.7 the same year.
The albums
Desde El Inicio (2012),
El Demo (2013), an EP,
Escrito en Reserva (2015),
Mejor que Ayer (2018),
Y Conoceréis La Verdad (2020),
and Conocí Una Oveja (2022), carrying the single Canciones Eternas.
El Demo took best urban album at Premios El Galardón in 2014, and he was named urban artist of the year there in 2017. Sigo Aquí, Amor y Pasión, Na and Te Necesito are among the recordings that travelled furthest.
Trapstorno
The turn came in 2018 with Trapstorno, cut with Redimi2, Natan El Profeta and El Philippe. It reached far outside the Christian audience and became the record the genre is still measured against; Mejor que Ayer followed on the back of it. The line-up alone says it — two of the four had come out of Aposento Alto, and the fourth was the man who made the first Christian rap album in the country.
He has also recorded with Lizzy Parra, the Puerto Rican Manny Montes, Dkano, and the Brazilians Jotta A and Daniela Araújo.
